【摘要】:ThisgasadsorptionmethodcomplementstheX-rayprocedureofTestMethodD3906.ThistestmethodwillbeusefultolaboratoriesthatdonothaveX-raydiffractometers.Eachtestmethodcanbecalibratedbyuseofanappropriateseriesofmechanicalmixturestoprovidewhatmaybetermedpercentzeolite.Ifthereisdisorderinthezeolite,theadsorptionmethodwillyieldhighervaluesthantheX-raymethod.Thereversewillbetrueifsomezeolitepores(micropores)areblockedorfilled.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftotalsurfaceareaandmesoporearea.Fromtheseresultsarecalculatedthezeoliteareaandmicroporevolumeofazeolitecontainingcatalyst.Themicroporevolumeisrelatedtothepercentzeoliteinthecatalyst.Thezeolitearea,anumberrelatedtothesurfaceareawithinthezeolitepores,mayalsobecalculated.Zeolitearea,however,isdifficulttointepretinphysicaltermsbecauseofthemannerinwhichnitrogenmoleculespackwithinthezeolite.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecificprecautionarystatement,seeNote3.
