【摘要】:Thisguideisintendedforusebythedesigners,evaluators,andusersofwalk-throughmetaldetectorstobeinstalledtoscreenpersonsenteringorleavingacontrolledaccessarea.Thisguideisnotmeanttoconstraindesignlibertybutistobeusedasaguideintheselectionoflocationandinstallationofwalk-throughmetaldetectors.1.1Somefacilitiesrequirethatpersonnelenteringdesignatedareasbescreenedforconcealedweaponsandothermetallicmaterials.Also,personnelexitingdesignatedareasareoftenscreenedformetallicshieldingmaterialandothertypesofmetalliccontraband.Walk-throughmetaldetectorsarewidelyusedtoimplementtheserequirements.Thisguidedescribesvariouselementstobeconsideredwhenplanningtoinstallwalk-throughmetaldetectors.1.2Thisguideisnotintendedtosetperformancelevels,norisitintendedtolimitorconstrainoperationaltechnologies.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
