【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddefineseddycurrenttestingtechniquesfordetectionofsurfacebreakingandnearsurfaceplanardiscontinuities,mainlyinferriticmaterials(weldmaterial,heat-affectedzones,parentmaterials).Eddycurrenttestingcanalsobespecifiedforusewithnon-ferriticmaterials,forexampleinanapplicationstandard.Thetechniquescanbeappliedtocoatedanduncoatedobjectsduringfabricationandinservice,bothonshoreandoffshore.Eddycurrenttestingcanbecarriedoutonallaccessiblesurfacesandonweldsofalmostanyconfiguration.UnlessotherwisespecifiedforspecificpointsinthisInternationalStandard,thegeneralprinciplesofEN12084apply.NOTEEddycurrenttestingisusuallyperformedintheas-weldedcondition.However,theaccuracyoftheresultscanbeaffectedbyveryroughsurfacefinishes.
