【摘要】:1.1Thispracticeutilizessymbolstodepictsecuritysystemsandequipmentrequirementsforarchitecturalorengineeringdrawingsthatareproducedeithermanuallyorbycomputeraideddesign(CAD).Thesymbolsdepictedincludesomesymbolsthathavealreadybeensomewhatuniversallyacceptedorthathavealreadybeenadoptedbyastandards-writingbody,suchasbytheNationalFireProtectionAssociation.1.2Itisnotproposedthatallofthesymbolsneedtobeutilizedsincethelevelofdetailrequiredfordrawingsislikelytovary.Genericsymbolsofaclassofsecuritydevicemaybesufficientinsomeinstances.Moreover,theneedtoprovideameasureofsecurityintheactualdrawingmayalsosuggestaneedtoutilizeagenericsymbolratherthantodepicttheexactdevicebeinginstalled.1.3Intheeventthatagreaterlevelofdetailisrequired,itispossibletocombinemanyofthesymbolstocreatenewsymbolsthatachievethedesiredlevel.Whilesomecombinationsofsymbolsareshown,itwouldbeimpracticaltoattempttodepicteveryconceivablecombinationofsymbols.Itisalsotheintentofthispracticethatthesymbolsbecapableofbeingcontinuouslyexpandedandmodifiedastheindustrystateoftheartchangesorasemphasisvaries.Forexample,littleattentionisgiventodocumentsecurityinthesecuritysymbolssincesuchrequirementsarenotgenerallyfullymetduringconstructionperiodsbutareratherdevelopedandprovidedforsubsequently.Sincemuchofthisequipmentisnotinstalledbutis"placed,"suchasfurniture,thereisonlyonesymbolproposed(forexample,fordocumentshredders).1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
